The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Homage to Home” might be the only thing more Chicago than the bean in Millennium Park. These combine two all-time AJ1 favorites into one shoe, the Banned and the Chicago Bulls, by splitting the shoe down the middle. The “Forbidden” portion is on the lateral side while “Chicago” is on the medial. These were released in May 2018 and were not numbered like the previous limited release in Chicago. Retailing for $160, they are exclusively available in men’s sizes. If you’re a fan of the AJ 1 and love classic colors, this pair is a must-have.

| The experimental retro delivers a much more risk-taking color arrangement than has traditionally appeared on the Jordan’s 1u00a0u00a0tallest trim: A full-suede upper divvies up soft purple and blue tones throughout Peter Mooreu2019s iconic design. Standard branding, tongues, and collar panels deviate from the pastel-adjacent tones in favor of stark u201cBlacku201d contrast; the miniature swoosh on the lateral forefoot forgoes any of the aforementioned hues, instead of indulging in a teal-like color. As its namesake suggests, the Jordan 1 Switch features a robust zipper (done in yellow on this pair) right underneath the seventh eyelet. In seconds, then, the pair becomes a low-top sneaker, boasting a tongue at the appropriate height and an added pull tab at the heel. | In 2017, Jordan Brand traveled to Art Basel Miami Beach to release the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG NRG ‘Igloo’ in limited quantities. The pastel colorway was released exclusively alongside a companion Jordan 1 in ‘Rust Pink’, with both pairs sporting a reworked version of the ‘Black Toe’ design formula. Here, the high-top accents a black and white leather construction with Igloo colorways on the collar flap, heel, and outsole.

Releases like the Shattered Backboard 1 and Bred Toe have shifted all eyes on Jordanu2019s u201cBlack Toeu201d inspired colorways. The Royal Toe takes inspiration from the original Jordan 1 Royal colorway (which was released in 1985) and adds design elements of the Black Toe 1 to create a familiar, but new dialogue. This AJ 1 features a white and royal leather upper with black leather overlays and detailing. A white midsole, royal outsole, and branded leather tongue tag complete this design.
